J. Wentzel van Huyssteen

Professor Emeritus of Theology and Science, Princeton Theological Seminary

Alone in the World? Human Uniqueness in Science and Theology

In his series of lectures, van Huyssteen rejects the idea that religious faith and scientific thought inhabit opposing areas of rationality. He argues that these seemingly contradictory areas share some of the same resources of human rationality and can be connected through interdisciplinary dialogue. He advocates for an integrative praxis for theology and the sciences and posits that there is something uniquely human in the way we relate to ourselves, the world, and God.
